The FCC is requiring all users operating on UHF (421 MHz - 512 MHz) and VHF (150 Mhz - 170 MHz) channels to operate in “narrowband” by January 1, 2013.
You are receiving this letter because the FCC database indicates there are one or more frequencies licensed to you or your company that is not narrowband compliant. The intent of the FCC rule regarding narrowbanding is to cancel all licenses that are not narrowband compliant by the January 1, 2013 deadline.
There are two steps required to become narrowband compliant:
1) File modification with the FCC to be narrowband compliant
2) Reprogram your equipment to narrowband operation. For most current equipment changing to narrowband is as simple as re-programming your equipment to operate in narrowband.
